Security guide: protecting your digital asset account

Practical account security for digital asset investing — 2FA, phishing defence, device hygiene, withdrawal controls and recovery planning.

The majority of client losses in digital assets are not market losses. They are account takeovers, phishing and social engineering. These are preventable.

Use app-based or hardware 2FA

SMS codes can be intercepted through SIM-swap attacks. An authenticator app is materially safer; a hardware security key is safer still and resists phishing outright.

Assume every message is a phishing attempt

Vaultero Capital will never contact you asking for your password, your 2FA code, or a transfer to a 'safe' address. Navigate to the platform directly rather than through links in email or chat.

Device hygiene

Keep operating systems and browsers updated, avoid browser extensions with broad permissions, and never access your account from shared machines or unsecured public networks.

Withdrawal controls

Verify withdrawal addresses character by character, and send a small test transfer first when using a new address. Clipboard-hijacking malware substitutes addresses silently.

Recovery planning

Keep your recovery methods current and stored offline. Review your account's active sessions and audit log regularly — unfamiliar activity is easiest to reverse when caught early.
